Student Organization Officer Trainings
There are required trainings for every president and business manager. These trainings must be completed to be able to re-register an organization, or to form a new organization. The incoming president must complete the President Training and the incoming business manager must complete the Business Manager Training.
New Organization Orientation Session/Training
Are you interested in registering a new student organization with the SORC? Learn everything you need to know about SORC and university policies and procedures during this presentation. Student orgs that are interested in registering during the October, February, or June New Organization Registration period MUST HAVE TWO representatives attend an orientation to qualify for registration status. You do not need to both be present at the same session, although it is recommended. Your application will not be approved until two officers attend a session. The sessions are being conducted as needed and scheduling is created directly by the students.
To gain access to the registration form that is open February 1-15, 2 of the organization's officers are required to attend an orientation session PRIOR TO February 1. To accommodate students’ varying availability, these orientations will be scheduled in mass sessions during January. With that, the January orientation dates are listed below. Please register in advance so you have access to the Zoom call. Once the meeting takes place, then the students will gain access to the form beginning February 1 to register the new organization.
- Wednesday January 14, 2026 at 11 a.m.
- Thursday January 15, 2026 at 2 p.m.
- Monday January 26, 2026 at 9 a.m.
- Wednesday January 28, 2026 at noon
If you cannot make any of those sessions due to academic or personal scheduling conflicts, you can book an individual meeting with me to meet the requirement for your organization. If that is needed, please email RAO28@pitt.edu and use the following link to book a time. These individual meetings still need to occur prior to October 1 to be eligible for the fall new org registration period. Book time with ONeill, Rachel Alexandra: New Student Organization Meeting (Orientation Requirement).
