Online Orientation
New first-year and transfer students will be invited to complete their required Pitt Online Orientation in mid-May (students beginning in the fall term) or late-October (students beginning in the spring term). The Online Orientation will deliver important campus information, resources, and engagement opportunities in a series of learning modules. The academic schools and advisors will deliver specific information to their admitted students for academic advising and course registration through the Online Orientation. Also provided in the Online Orientation is a checklist of additional requirements necessary for new students to complete.

Panther Connect
Panther Connect is back in person! Panther Connect provides the opportunity for you to meet other first-year students and learn about campus resources that will make your first semester at Pitt smooth and successful! Participants will engage with student life, explore common transition topics, and participate in fun and dynamic activities. This is also an opportunity to develop close friendships and meaningful skills to thrive in the first year of college.

Fall Move-In
Students selecting to live on-campus will receive information about housing assignments, move-in dates/times, parking, and other logistics in mid-July. First-year students' move-in dates are yet to be determined. Pitt's move-in dates are subject to health and safety guidance provided by the COVID-19 Medical Response Office (CMRO). Welcome Week
New first-year and transfer students admitted to the Fall semester (August 2023) will be invited to attend Fall Welcome Week events from Saturday, August 19, 2023, to Sunday, August 27, 2023. A Fall 2023 Welcome Week schedule will be sent to your Pitt email in July. Welcome Week is a series of events and programs to welcome you to Pitt and help you transition to your new home.
Commuter Students
Commuter Student Programs provides additional support, resources, and mentorship to our first-year commuter student community. Each first-year commuter student will receive direct communication from the Office of New Student Experience about Welcome Week.
Commuter Day (Fall only) provides a sense of community among first-year commuter students, connects you with our team of First Year Mentors, and assists students navigating Pitt for the first time.
Parents and Families
The Office of New Student Programs invites parents and families to participate in Welcome Week. Additionally, there will be specific parent and family programs highlighted on the Welcome Week schedule. We encourage you to learn more about the University of Pittsburgh and resources available by visiting the Parent and Family resource subsite.
Every family's approach to moving their student in is different. Some have plans to drop their student off, spend a few hours in Pittsburgh then head home. Some will hang out multiple days. Whatever your plans are we want to offer activities and sessions to help transition you from 'parent' to 'college parent' and to familiarize you with our community!

Required Health Education Modules
The three required Vector Solutions/EverFi online education modules (AlcoholEdu for College, Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) will open in December. You will receive an email to your Pitt account with login information once they are available for you to complete.

Financial Wellness
At Pitt, we want our students to make informed financial decisions before, during, and after college. We want to help you establish good money habits and give you the skills you need to thrive wherever life takes you. We also want to reduce student debt as much as possible and encourage healthy strategies to spend wisely and to pay off debt.
GradReady Requirement
The University of Pittsburgh requires all new first-year students to complete a financial wellness course called GradReady. The GradReady program will walk you through all of the smart steps you need to take in order to pay for college, manage your money, and repay any student loans you choose to take. New students must complete the steps below by Friday, August 25, 2023.

More Resources
In addition to meeting with your academic advisor to register for Fall courses, here are some other recommendations to prepare for the Fall term:
- Connect with Student Health Services or the University Counseling Center to learn more about how they work to keep all students healthy and well at Pitt. Student Health Services is also the office where you can submit your immunization forms, insurance information, and transfer prescriptions.
- Connect with Panther Central where you can get your Panther Card (Student ID), check in on housing placements, or sign up for a meal plan.
- Connect with Financial Aid to meet with a Financial Aid Counselor and have your individual aid questions answered.
