Membership and Facility Access

  • Campus recreation facilities and services are available to members of the Pitt Community:
    • Students: Full-time and part-time students who have paid the current Wellness Fee have full access to all facilities and services. Students not paying the fee may purchase a membership.
    • Faculty and Staff: Please view the current press release here (link to faculty/staff press release) for information regarding faculty and staff access. Check back later for  additional updates.
    • Affiliates: Select University-affiliated individuals may also be eligible for a membership
  • Details on membership pricing will be shared soon. Please check back for updates. 

At this time guest passes will not be offered for general facility use. Please check back at a later date for updates as we evaluate internally.

All members entering our facilities will need a valid Pitt ID. If you forget it, download our Pitt Campus rec app!

No, our staff are not permitted to hold, charge or watch any of your belongings behind the desk. We have over 100 daily use lockers throughout the facility and have over 500 lockers in our locker room for use during your visit.

Fitness and Wellness

Personal training outside of Campus Recreation offerings is not allowed. If you are interested in personal training, please view our fitness and wellness small group training offerings.

Group fitness classes are available to all wellness fee paying students. A separate (free!) membership is required to sign-up for all available offerings.

Aquatics

​​​​​​At this time, we do not offer swim lessons. Check back later for updates as we expand our services and offerings in the future.

Intramurals and Club Sports

When signing up for a league, there is a free agent option available. However it is up to the teams captain discretion to pick up additional players. For more information, please visit the Intramurals Page.

Equipment, Rentals and Reservations

  • Yes! A variety of equipment is available for checkout at the Member Services desk during your visit. Items include
    • Basketballs, Volleyballs and futsal soccer balls
    • Badminton racquets, pickleball paddles and balls
    • Weight belts and much more
  • We offer select items for purchase such as bath towels, water bottles and badminton birdies
  • Additional questions for future ORC

Recreation and Wellness Center

We are located at 3912 O’Hara St. Pittsburgh, PA 13215 next to Allen Hall and directly across the street from Benedum Hall. You can find our main offices on the 7th floor during normal business hours.

  • Yes! Campus recreation employs over 300 students in a variety of roles across multiple departments. To explore available positions and learn more about working with us
  • Working with Campus Rec is a great way to builds skills, gain experience and be a part of an energetic team!

We offer overhead sound that will project in most fitness spaces. If you would like to listen to your own music, headphones will be required. For rentals of spaces, we will take request for shared music for that group on a case by case basis.
