Mission
The Office of Parent and Family Resources serves as the primary point of contact for families of Pitt undergraduate students. We are committed to creating engaging partnership with parents, families, and support systems for students to enhance their collegiate experience.
The Office of Parent and Family Resources recognizes and honors multi-dimensional families and embraces that family structures can be of origin and/or of choice. We serve all families, parents, guardians, support systems, mentors, and other supporters in the lives of our Pitt students.
Vision
The Office of Parent and Families Resources will create a comprehensive parent and family program to educate, communicate, and engage parents and families to become informed and active partners in the academic, personal, and social success of Pitt undergraduate students.
Operational Objectives
Parents, guardians, and families play an important role in the lives of our college students. Studies show that parent and family involvement in the collegiate experience increases success, and retention and graduation rates. The Office of Parent and Family Resources is committed to the following objectives to provide you with programs, resources, and support –
- Serve as an partner for parents, families, guardians, and student support systems by facilitating communication and creating opportunities for engagement
- Develop and host programs and services to engage parents and families, provide involvement in their student’s experience, and welcome parents and families to the Pitt community
- Provide critical resources and support to ensure student success, including guidance for parents and families on support and making campus connections
- Commit to an environment focused on inclusion and equity for all students and families
