Office of Inclusion and Belonging
Welcome to the Office of Inclusion and Belonging!
The Office of Inclusion & Belonging (OIB) is not just a place, it is a posture. It is our approach to building an authentic and sustainable community that doesn’t simply acknowledge difference, but includes, centers, embraces, and learns from/with the people holding it. OIB is a team of diverse and passionate staff practitioners who work together to help Student Affairs become student ready and aware, and the University of Pittsburgh campus feel like home away from home for all students, especially those who come from traditionally excluded identities, cultures, and communities, i.e. BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Latinx, International, AAPI, Religious/Worldview, etc.
Through holistic student development, collaborative and cross-cultural programming, and co-curricular student engagement and advising, we explore, highlight and bridge the need for equity in three main areas of the student experience that impact their sense of belonging: student journey, student identity, and student worldview.
Thank you for visiting our page and make sure you stop by the 6th floor of the William Pitt Union to visit, hang out, study, connect, and find out how you can participate. Remember, our goal is for our campus to go from “Oh, I Belong” to “Oh, You belong” to “Oh, We Belong!”
