Meeting Structure & Schedule
The Division of Student Affairs meeting structure is designed to advance key divisional priorities, including communication, connection, collaboration, as well as staff learning and development. Each meeting type plays a unique role, and the accompanying tags identify the primary goals for the meetings.
The format for each meeting is indicated as in-person, hybrid, or online. Staff with approved accommodations will be provided with participation information in advance.
Coming together as a division is valuable because it strengthens connection, supports shared understanding, and helps us align our work across Student Affairs. At the same time, the services, support, and education our teams provide are vital to students and the campus community. Because of this, Strategic Leadership Team members will evaluate where flexibility may be needed for specific departments or functional areas to ensure we are appropriately balancing divisional engagement with operational needs.

Division-wide forums that promote transparency and communication by providing updates on priorities, initiatives, and emerging issues while creating space for staff questions and dialogue. On each town hall date, two attendance options (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) will be available.

Description: During the workshop we will provide information about event planning, review frequent challenges and answer questions about how departments can improve their partnership with Student Unions.

Description: This workshop will explore practical ways Student Affairs professionals can use artificial intelligence (AI) to support their day-to-day work. The session will focus on responsible and effective use of AI within the University environment while providing practical examples that can be applied across a variety of Student Affairs roles.

Topic: When the Media Calls: A Student Affairs Guide to Media Relations
**This workshop is mandatory for all Student Affairs departments. Directors, Department Leads, and staff responsible for programs and events should attend.
Presenters: Dr. Carla Panzella, Vice Provost of Student Affairs, Janine Fisher, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications
Description: What should Student Affairs staff do when a reporter reaches out, a student becomes the focus of a story, or a campus issue gains attention on social media? This Lunch & Learn will provide practical guidance on working with Media Relations and managing social media in ways that support students, protect the University community, and maintain consistent and thoughtful communication. Participants will explore best practices, common scenarios, and key considerations around student free expression, media inquiries, social media management, and the role of Student Affairs, with resources from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) serving as a reference for understanding free-speech principles and student rights.
