The Student Civic Engagement Council (SCEC) is a student group that aims to provide training, mentorship and education opportunities for the Pitt community prior to engaging in civic engagement work. SCEC’s goal is to promote civic mindedness in students while also ensuring the cultivation of mutually beneficial community partnerships.
Founded in 2014 under the Office of PittServes, SCEC reflects the University of Pittsburgh’s commitment to community engagement and student development. The Council empowers students to develop as engaged citizens who contribute to a culture of civic engagement at the University.
