Fraternity and Sorority Life 101 

All students who are interested in fraternity and sorority life are required to attend a Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) 101 session prior to recruitment or intake. These sessions will cover basic fraternity and sorority life terminology, expectations for membership, rights and responsibilities of new members, sexual assault prevention, alcohol safety, combating exclusive traditions, hazing education, and transparency about what to expect. Leaders from each council and a professional staff member facilitate these sessions. Sessions will be offered varying times and dates in the fall and spring semesters to accommodate those wanting to seek membership. This training session is one-hour long that consist of both discussion base and lecture, so please be prepared for when you attend. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will be conducting the training via Zoom technologies. For Zoom FSL 101 sessions, attendees must register by clicking on the date and time below and have a Pitt Zoom account (https://pitt.zoom.us/). Attendance will be taken at the end of the session.

Greek Week

Greek Week is a programming body run by fraternity and sorority leaders dedicated to philanthropy and fundraising in and around the Pittsburgh community. It is not just one week of events, but events throughout the entire academic year. Greek Week is committed to serving the Pittsburgh community by launching a fundraising campaign for the Children’s Miracle Network program of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation and blood drive efforts for Vitalant

Greek Week Vitalant Blood Drives 

  • To schedule your lifesaving appointment, go to Vitalant Blood Donation.
  • Choose “Donor Login” if you have donated with Vitalant or Central Blood Bank before 
  • If you have not donated with Vitalant or Central Blood Bank before, choose “New Donor” 
  • At the “Schedule your Appointment Today” screen, scroll down using the far right scroll bar and enter group code CU190024 to schedule your donation

Individual Student and Advisor Awards

The Individual Student and Advisor Awards are presented each year to community members who have demonstrated outstanding achievements either as an officer, leaders or volunteer for the Fraternity and Sorority Life Community and the University. All awards, with the exception of Fraternity Man of the Year & Sorority Woman of the Year, are awarded for each council. Chapter members, students, advisors, and campus partners can submit separate applications for each nominee during the spring semester, and can submit multiple applications for each award, if applicable. Award winners will receive their award at the annual Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards ceremony in April. View the descriptions for the Individual Student and Advisor Awards.

The form below is to be completed by nominator by April 3, 2023 for the 2022-2023 Academic Year Award Winner. Nomination forms should be submitted by 12:00pm on Monday, April 3, 2023.
