Black Action Society (BAS)

BAS traditionally partners with CCLD and other student groups (National Society of Black Engineers, Jumpstart, etc.) for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. The Pitt community also looks forward to BAS’s Black History Month programming.

Asian Student Alliance (ASA)

ASA represents five Asian-American student groups: the Chinese American Student Association, Filipino Students Association, Korean Student Association, and the Vietnamese Student Association.

Feminist Empowerment Movement (FEM)

Feminist Empowerment Movement, or FEM, is a new organization on campus dedicated to helping Pitt students navigate both the professional world and daily society through professional development, life skills, and self-empowerment. Programming includes professional lectures and events such as how to negotiate a raise, build a solid resume, and network, as well as self-empowerment and life skills events like addressing animosity between women, exploring intersectional feminism, and learning how to empower all women through positive action.

Hillel

The Hillel Jewish University Center of Pittsburgh serves an estimated 1,600 Jewish undergraduate students at Pitt through umbrella organizations including the Jewish Student Union, Hillelujah (student a cappella group), Panthers for Israel, Challah for Hunger, Jews of Social Work, Jewish Greek Life Association and various internships!

Hillel staff is excited to meet with you and will take you out for coffee!

Rainbow Alliance

The Rainbow Alliance is an organization that provides for the concerns and interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and asexual/ allied community (LGBTQIA+). This organization, fosters an atmosphere of awareness and acceptance of all individuals, by providing the University of Pittsburgh community   essential tools to accomplish these goals. We, as members of the University of Pittsburgh, will work to ensure that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, will be provided with an experience of equality, without prejudice, persecution, or intolerance.

Pitt Dance Marathon

The Pitt Dance Marathon is a 16 hour dance extravaganza that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. There are many ways for students to get involved with Pitt Dance Marathon. Email the PDM leadership at pdm@pitt.edu to learn more.

Omicron Delta Kappa

Omicron Delta Kappa is an honorary society which seeks to identify, honor, and develop leaders in collegiate and community life. Sponsor of the annual ODK Senior of the Year award, which highlights senior graduates with a place on the Cathedral of Learning walk.
