Cadet Summer Training

Cadet Basic Camp

Cadet Basic Camp is designed for those cadets who have not completed the Military Science Level 1 and 2 classes. This takes place at Ft. Knoc, KY over the summer between their sophomore and junior years. It is designed to introduce cadets to Army life and leadership training. Learn more about Basic Camp.

Cadet Advanced Camp

Cadet Advanced Camp is a commissioning requirement for all cadets to successfully complete.  It is held at Ft. Knox, KY.  Cadets usually attend this camp during the summer between their junior and senior years.  It is a capstone event meant to evaluate the cadet’s ability and proficiency in the officer leadership skills they learned during their first 3 years in the ROTC.  Learn more about Advanced Camp.

Cadet Advanced Individual Training

This is a summer training program that allows qualified cadets to attend some of the Army’s specialty schools during the summer.  Learn more about Advanced Individual Training.

Airborne

Cadets may have the opportunity to attend this intense and physically demanding school.  Cadets will be able to train with members across all 4 branches of the military.  During the first phase of training, students will learn the capabilities of different parachutes and aircraft.  They will learn proper body position while exiting the aircraft by jumping out of a 34 foot tower.  The second phase of training students will learn how to land safely, conduct parachute recovery, and different parachute malfunctions.  The final and most exciting phase students will conduct five jumps from aircraft.  At the end of successful training, students will earn coveted airborne wings. Air Assault

This is another intense and physically demanding school cadets may have the opportunity to attend.  Cadets will learn about the capabilities of Army helicopters, how to sling load, or attach different types of equipment to the bottom of aircraft, and how to rappel from a helicopter. Students will test their skills and knowledge through hands on and written exams. Students will have to inspect and properly perform a sling load. Students will learn how to correctly attach themselves and equipment to ropes and rappel from a 100-ft tower. At the end of successful training, students will earn the coveted air assault wings. Mountain Warfare School

Students will learn skills in rappelling, rock climbing, mountain survival, day and night land navigation, first aid, and tying knots.  Students will be required to climb up and rappel down mountains, tie rope systems to make bridges, and casualty care and evacuation. Internships

Cadets are given the opportunity to complete internships related to the branch of the Army they would like to pursue following graduation.  Cadets can apply for internships in fields such as Troop Leader Training, Forensics, Research, Nursing, and many others.  Learn more about Internships.
