AFROTC Training Instructor

Technical Sergeant Figueroa graduated from Forest Hill High School located in West Palm Beach Florida in 2006. Shortly after he enlisted into the Air Force on the 60th anniversary. After completing Basic Military Training, he was assigned to 116th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, a blended unit of guardsmen and active duty. There he repaired the Communication and Navigation Mission Systems onboard JSTARS (Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System). In support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he deployed to the Middle East to facilitated flights to eradicate terrorists during the Global War on Terrorism.

After 8 years of aircraft maintenance, Technical Sergeant Figueroa was selected over his peers for the Field Training Detachment Instructor position. For the next 4 years he trained new and seasoned maintainers to include Civilians as well as Marines. During this time, he accumulated 2,200 training hours and graduated over 200 students. Additionally, he was elected as Curriculum Manager where maintained and updated lesson plans for the entire Detachment.

From there Technical Sergeant Figueroa was reassigned to the 595th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron to work on the E-4B, aka Doomsday Plane. He led the Communication and Navigation Mission Systems shop in mending aircraft deficiencies to secure flights for Secretary of Defense, Chief of staff, and other VIPs to international conferences. He ensured aircraft reliability by directing Periodic Inspections. This allowed the cycling of aircrafts to maintain the 24/7/365 Alert Mission.

Ready for a new horizon, Technical Sergeant Figueroa applied for Det 730 AF ROTC Instructor. Being chosen for duty, he finds it an honor and a privilege for the opportunity to motivate and inspire cadets, the future leaders of the Air Force.
