SFC Chad Bluhm was born in Janesville, WI. He joined the Army on 16 August 2007. He went to One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, GA as an Infantryman. Upon graduation, he was assigned to 2-14 INF BN at Fort Drum, NY. He served as a Grenadier, M249 SAW Gunner, M240B Machine Gunner and Team Leader. SFC Bluhm deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in 2009. In 2012 he was stationed at Fort Hood, TX with 3/3 CR where he served as a Team Leader, Squad Leader and Section Sergeant. In 2014 SFC Bluhm deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF. In 2015 he was moved to Fort Carson, CO and assigned to 1-38 INF BN as a Squad Leader, Section Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant. SFC Bluhm was selected to attend the United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy in 2017. He was then stationed at Fort Benning, GA with 2-54 INF BN as a Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant. In 2020 he was moved back to Fort Drum, NY to 2-14 INF BN as a Platoon Sergeant. In 2023 SFC Bluhm was deployed to Iraq and Syria in support of Operation Resolute Support. In June 2024 he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies from Syracuse University. SFC Bluhm was assigned as a Military Science Instructor at the University of Pittsburgh in August 2024.
