Dr. Michael Davila was appointed as the Executive Associate Dean and Chief Wellness Officer at the University of Pittsburg in October 2025. In this newly created role, he provides strategic leadership for Campus Recreation, Student Health Services, the University Counseling Center, Care and Resource Support, and the Office of Financial Wellness (shared with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid).
Dr. Davila brings more than 15 years of progressive experience in student affairs, with a career devoted to advancing holistic student well-being and embedding wellness, equity, and success into every dimension of campus life. He previously served as Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where he led a comprehensive Student Affairs portfolio and guided major initiatives in inclusion, belonging, and student engagement.
A graduate of Texas Christian University with a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership, Dr. Davila also completed Harvard University’s Institute for Educational Management. Dr. Davila is passionate about the transcendent power of higher education to shape lives and communities. Beyond campus, he finds joy in cooking, baking, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his dog, Pippin, and partner, Tim.
