A proud first-generation college graduate from Flint, Michigan, Dean Nabors holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sociology from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in Cultural Foundations of Education from Syracuse University—an academic foundation that has shaped his inclusive leadership style and enduring commitment to equity and social justice.
Throughout his career, Dean Nabors has championed the role of Student Affairs as a vital bridge between academic and campus life, fostering student development through innovative, student-centered programs. His previous accomplishments include launching five living-learning residential communities, implementing a unified student support reporting system, and leading university-wide initiatives focused on retention, engagement, and student well-being.
