Chris Marks is the Executive Director of Campus Recreation within the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Joining Pitt in April 2025, Chris played a pivotal role in opening the state-of-the-art Recreation & Wellness Center.
With over 25 years of experience in Campus Recreation at the University of South Florida, Chris has dedicated his career to creating inclusive pathways for student participation in recreational activities. His leadership focuses on fostering a sense of belonging and promoting the benefits of regular physical activity to enhance student well-being.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Wellness Leadership from the University of South Florida and his Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Oregon State University. Beginning as a program coordinator and advancing to director at USF, Chris gained extensive expertise in programming, facility management, and business operations. He has overseen all areas within the Campus Recreation portfolio, consistently emphasizing student engagement and holistic wellness.
