Brian Dubenion

Associate Dean of Student Culture and Community

Brian Dubenion is a dedicated Student Affairs leader who believes in the power of connection, belonging, and support to help students reach their goals. A proud first-generation college graduate, Brian brings a personal understanding of the challenges students face and a deep commitment to helping them succeed.

Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, Brian served as Associate Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Students at Lincoln University (PA), the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU. In that role, he led initiatives focused on student engagement, well-being, and persistence, ensuring that every student had the opportunity to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Brian is an active member of NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, and participated in the inaugural cohort of NASPA’s Ujima Institute. He received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence as a student and was later honored with the Buffalo State University Higher Education and Student Affairs Outstanding Alumni Award.

Grounded in empathy and collaboration, Brian continues to champion student success by building communities where all students feel seen, supported, and inspired to achieve their fullest potential.
