National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the governing council for historically black or African-American fraternities and sororities. NPHC or sometimes called Divine Nine consist of nine national fraternities and sororities. Currently, the University of Pittsburgh has four fraternities and two sororities. If you would like to be on the NPHC general body meeting agenda, please email the NPHC president. For most up to date information about NPHC, please visit their Instagram.
The NPHC Fraternities will be participating in the Meet the Fraternities on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 8pm-10pm with the Interfraternity Council.
NPHC Plots
The NPHC Plots in the Schenley Quad were unveiled during Homecoming 2021 on Saturday, September 25. Plots have a unique and special tradition with being located on most Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The University of Pittsburgh is the only Predominantly White Institutions in Western Pennsylvania to have this remarkable landmark for the NPHC community. Plots symbolically represent each chapter’s presence on campus and in the Pittsburgh community. Donations and naming opportunities are still available at engage.pitt.edu/NPHCplot.
