Jill Krantz

Executive Director of Campus Recreation

Jill Krantz joined Pitt as the Executive Director of Campus Recreation in October 2019. As Executive Director, Krantz is currently supervising the construction of the new Wellness and Recreation center scheduled to open in 2023, one of the largest construction projects on campus in recent history.

Krantz’s other duties as Executive Director include personnel, budget, outdoor programs, aquatics, fitness, operations and the oversight and management of other campus facilities. Krantz also works to support University-wide initiatives and events pertaining to mental wellness.

Before joining Pitt, Krantz spent six years at the University of Virginia, where she served as associate athletics director and department director. Prior to her time at UVA, Krantz worked in a variety of roles, as principal with GreenPlay LLC, as Recreation and Tourism/Director in the School of Business at the University of Colorado, as facility manager at the Chilson Recreation/Senior center in Loveland, C.O., and as recreation supervisor for Onslow County, N.C.

Krantz holds two master’s degrees from North Carolina State University in parks, recreation, and tourism management and in public administration. She earned her BA from Wisconsin-La Crosse in park and recreation administration. In her free time, Jill enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and their dog.
