Collegiate Panhellenic Association
Collegiate Panhellenic Association (Panhel) is the governing body for the National Panhellenic Conference sororities and associative members at the University of Pittsburgh. This governing body provides educational opportunities, resources, networking opportunities, and accountability for the 15 chapters on campus. All potential new members must have at least 12 college credits from the University of Pittsburgh (or another higher education institution) and a minimum of 2.5 GPAs.

National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the governing council for historically black or African-American fraternities and sororities. NPHC or sometimes called Divine Nine consist of nine national fraternities and sororities. Currently, the University of Pittsburgh has four fraternities and two sororities. The NPHC Plots in the Schenley Quad were unveiled during Homecoming 2021 on Saturday, September 25. Plots have a unique and special tradition with being located on most Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The University of Pittsburgh is the only Predominantly White Institutions in Western Pennsylvania to have this remarkable landmark for the NPHC community. Plots symbolically represent each chapter’s presence on campus and in the Pittsburgh community.
