SFZ PEER EDUCATORS
The Stress Free Zone could not exist without the hard work and true passion from our Peer Educators. Comprised of student employees, volunteers and interns, our SFZ Peer Educators are truly the heart and soul of the space.
All Peer Educators meet weekly to receive ongoing training in facilitating student usage of Stress Free Zone services, which are designed to help students learn evidence-based ways to relieve their stress. Though we call it a “staff meeting”, we are really participating in Mindfulness activities that help us become the best version of ourselves. Because if we aren’t better ourselves, then we aren’t bettering the space.
Volunteers are the bread and butter of our Peer Educator staff. They assist with SFZ duties and depending upon availability and performance may work independently. We typically ask for 3-4 hours from our volunteers each week. Most of the time, our volunteers are the ones who become our student employees in the semesters down the road.
If exposure to positive psychology, mind/body wellness approaches, and mindfulness pertain to your academic or professional goals, consider an internship with the SFZ! Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to see if it fits within your major’s guidelines.
When student employment openings become available, the job position will always be posted on the Talent Center.
