TELEMEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH STUDENT HEALTH SERVICE

Ensuring the health and safety of the University Community is our highest priority.   Due to the pandemic, the University of Pittsburgh Student Health Service is now offering Telemedicine.

Please Check In and complete required forms and consent up to one hour prior to your Telemedicine appointment.   All required forms and consent must be completed prior to being virtually admitted by your Clinician to your Zoom appointment.

Scheduling a Telemedicine Appointment

Please contact the Student Health Service at (412) 383-1800 to schedule your Telemedicine appointment.

Self Check-In Process

  1. Go to the Student Health Portal to start the Self Check-In process.   CLICK HERE to enter the Student Health Portal.
  2. SHS_TELE_UpcomingApptOnce you have logged in, you will find your scheduled appointment in the To Do List at the bottom of your screen.

  3. SHS_TELE_FormPromptClick on the Check In button to start Self Check-In.  You will then be prompted to complete required forms and consent.    Click on OK.

  4. SHS_TELE_FormsScreenAfter clicking on the OK button, the Forms screen will appear with your appointment’s required forms and consent.

  5. To complete forms:
    • Click on form.
    • Answer all questions
    • Click on the Submit button located at the bottom of the form.
  6. SHS_TELE_FinishCheckinMSGOnce you have submitted all required forms and consent, the Finish Check-In screen will appear.   Click on OK.

  7. SHS_TELE_CheckinDoneOn the Student Health Portal Main Screen, check the To Do List for your scheduled appointment and confirm the status has changed to Checked In.   This verifies that you have successfully completed all required forms and consent.   Click on image link to view full size example.
  8. After you have finished Self Check-In, check your secure messages for your Zoom appointment link.

Obtaining your Zoom appointment link

SHS_TELE_MessagesOnce you have completed Self Check-In, click on Messages (located under To Do List on the Main Page) where you will find a secure message from your Clinician containing your Zoom appointment link.

Connecting to your Zoom appointment
  1. Copy and paste the Zoom link into your web browser.
  2. SHS_TELE_SignIn#1Click on "Sign in to Join" to start the login process.

  3. SHS_TELE_SignIn#2When the Zoom Sign In screen appears, click on the "Sign in with SSO" button.

  4. SHS_TELE_SignIn#3When the Sign In with SSO screen appears, enter "pitt" in the Company Domain field.

  5. SHS_TELE_MeetingPWWhen the Meeting Password screen appears, enter the password that was sent with your Zoom link and then click on the "Join Meeting" button.

  6. SHS_TELE_ZoomMTGWaitForAdmitYou are now connected to your Telemedicine appointment.   Once you are admitted by your Clinician, you will be prompted for an audio selection and then your Telemedicine appointment will begin.
