Roc’s Welcome Package, $15 –Roc’s Welcome Package is for families who want to visit their student and not attend any Family Weekend sponsored events with food. Each registered family will receive one welcome bag which includes Pitt branded items including a t-shirt for up to 4 guests. Families can purchase football game tickets, tailgate tickets, and a la carte options with their registration.
Panther Plus Package, $30 – A welcome bag with Pitt branded items including a t-shirt for each guest registered. Up to 4 meal vouchers for our all you care to eat Eatery location on lower campus. Ability to attend Family Weekend sponsored events. Due to the large number of Pitt families visiting campus for Family Weekend and room/building capacities, registered families will be asked to select from event time slots closer to the weekend via an online survey that will be distributed. Some events may fill to capacity or be closed if room/building capacity is reached.
Additional guests, $5 –Please add additional guests to your registration if your party is over 4 guests. (This includes a t-shirt for your additional guest(s) in the welcome bag).

Both registration packages, the Roc's Welcome Package and Panther Plus Package, include up to 4 people in the registration. You can add additional guests at the time of registration by adding additional guests to your cart for $5 per person.
No, do not include the Pitt student you are visiting in the registration number.
If you registered for Family Weekend online, you're all set! Registration is electronic. Just provide the name used at registration at early check in or Friday check in to receive your welcome bag.
We are anticipating a large number of Pitt families will register and visit for Family Weekend, and we are very excited to welcome you to campus!
Registration will close on Friday, September 22 at 5pm.
Families who register for the Panther Plus Package will receive follow up information about the welcome reception, family bingo, and the grab and go brunch to select a time slot for the event. Having time slots for large events will allow us to host families in a safe manner.*
*We will close events if the event reaches room or building capacity.
Early On-Site Check In
Early check in will be held Wednesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 2 in the William Pitt Union from 10am-2pm. Students may stop by to check in their registered visitors. Check in process will include receiving a welcome bag, and picking up any requested housing access wristbands.
Check In Station
Friday, November 3, 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Registered families can check in on Friday, November 3 from noon-6pm in the William Pitt Union.
Family Weekend registration cancellations made before October 20, 2023 will receive a refund. Cancellations received after October 20, 2023 will not receive a refund. Refunds may take up to 30 days to process from the time of cancellation. Families may request to change from the Panther Plus Package to the Roc's Welcome Package and receive a partial refund. Cancellations and registration changes should be emailed to parents@pitt.edu.
All football game ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be offered.
All visiting families can indicate a need to for a housing access wristband at the time of registration. Registrants will receive additional information to provide their wristband. Visitors must be accompanied by their student. Wristbands will be available for pick up during on-site check in. Family members without access wristbands can sign in at the security booth per the visitor policy.
To access the residence halls, you will need to be escorted by your student (the resident of the hall) and show your wristband to the security guard at the entrance booth.
Building access with your wristband is permitted during the following days/hours -
Friday, November 3, 9am-9pm
Saturday, November 4, 9am-6pm
Sunday, November 5, 9am-6pm
We recommend using either the Soldiers and Sailors Garage or Park Mobile. Soldiers and Sailors weekend rates start Friday after 4PM. The cost is five dollars per day. However, please note that the garage closes from Midnight to 8AM.
Visitors looking for in and out parking privileges should consider using Park Mobile. Park Mobile gives non-permit holders the ability to park in University owned garages and lots for low daily rates. This includes various different lots and garages all over campus for rates such as $8, $12, and even $5 for the entire day.
It is also based off a reservation system, so you can reserve a spot in a garage/lot weeks ahead of time. Do keep in mind since it is based on reservations, we recommend reserving a space at least three days ahead of time.

Yes, visiting families are able to use the Pitt Shuttles while on campus for Family Weekend.

Yes, students and all guests need tailgate tickets for the Family Weekend tailgate. The Family Weekend Tailgate is SOLD OUT.
