Dear Student Affairs colleagues,
It's my great pleasure to share some wonderful news with the division: Linda Williams-Moore has officially been appointed Executive Director of the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, effective last Thursday, August 20.
Since joining the University of Pittsburgh in 2007, Linda Williams-Moore has demonstrated a sustained commitment to fostering community, inclusion, and belonging across the University. Throughout her nearly two decades at Pitt, she has developed and led initiatives focused on strengthening student engagement, cultivating inclusive communities, supporting student success, and creating opportunities for students to build meaningful connections and experience a sense of belonging. In recognition for her contributions to the University, Linda was a recipient of the Creating a Just Community award in 2012 and in 2025, and she was a recipient of the Creative Changemaker Award, recognizing her commitment to create meaningful change and strengthen community.
Williams-Moore’s appointment as Executive Director of the Office of Inclusion and Belonging represents a continuation of work that has been central to her career at the University of Pittsburgh since her arrival. In this role, she will continue advancing efforts that foster connection, engagement, community, and belonging, while working collaboratively with students and campus partners to ensure that the Office of Inclusion and Belonging serves as a welcoming resource for the entire Pitt student community.
Beyond her life at Pitt, Linda is an ordained minister with the AME Church and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She holds a BS in Communications from Southern Connecticut State University and an MA in Higher Education Administration from Iowa State University, and she is an active member of NASPA and ACPA.
Many of you have had the privilege of working alongside Linda for years, and you know just how much heart, wisdom, and dedication she brings to everything she does. Please join me in giving Linda heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful and well-deserved appointment.
