Frances Hesselbein

fh_headshot_2013One of the most highly respected experts in the field of contemporary leadership development, Frances Hesselbein (1915-2022), served as the Chairman of the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Forum and Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning Leader to Leader Journal.  Frances also previously served as CEO of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America from 1976 to 1990.  In 2009, Frances Hesselbein joined with the University of Pittsburgh and her colleagues worldwide to strengthen leadership among college-age students by developing the Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement.

 

As a “pioneer for women, diversity and inclusion,” Hesselbein was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. A distinguished author and board member for several nonprofit and corporate boards, she is the the co-editor of twenty-seven books in twenty-nine languages. She has written numerous articles and books on effective leadership, including the best seller, The Leader of the Future, Hesselbein on Leadership, More Hesselbein on Leadership, and The Five Most Important Questions” Enduring Wisdom for Today’s Leaders.
