The Off-Campus COVID-19 Safety Ambassador program was a student position during the 2020-21 academic year to engage peers and members of the community about public health guidelines to mitigate COVID-19 while traveling the sidewalks of Oakland. These students distributed face coverings, hand sanitizers, educational materials, and more. This position was an initiative supported by the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Community and Governmental Relations. Read more about the ambassadors in Pittwire. This group had nearly 4,000 student interactions focused on public health guidelines during the 2020-21 academic year. These students truly showed the Power of Pitt.
