Writing and Communications Internship

Responsibilities will include:

  • Interview subjects and write and edit articles for various publications including web, newsletters, and more
  • Write copy and schedule social media posts
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread email campaigns
  • Assist in data and tracking of social media campaigns
  • Write post-event recaps to distribute and post
  • Provide support in producing other marketing and communications materials
  • Assist in video production and on-camera work as needed

The ideal candidate will have proven writing and editing skills along with skills and experience working with the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with social media management and software such as Canva is ideal but not required.
 
Candidates should be able thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well individually and as a member of a team, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to meet deadlines. Hours are flexible.

Graphic Design Internship

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop various print and digital materials for multi-layered marketing campaigns, including graphics for web, social media, e-newsletters, publications, apparel, signage, and more.
  • Work within the University and Student Affairs brand guidelines to effectively promote the programs and services sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Focus on designing thoughtful solutions to reach the vast audiences within the University, primarily students, and create seamless, on-target communications
  • Develop advertisements and campaign materials quickly and independently, as well as collaboratively with the assistant director for creative services and fellow interns.

Applicants must have proven graphic design ability, strong typography skills, and experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), as well as Microsoft Office.
 
Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to meet deadlines. Some writing, editorial, and photography skills also would be beneficial. Hours are flexible.

Multimedia Internship

Responsibilities will include:

  • Using DSLRs to record video of and photograph various campus functions
  • Using lighting and sound equipment in a production studio and on location
  • Designing, conducting, and editing on-camera interviews
  • Scriptwriting
  • Using Adobe Creative Suite to edit video, audio, and photography
  • Working in a team in all stages of creating multimedia marketing assets

The ideal candidate will have proven video production, photography, and storytelling skills. Exceptional candidates will have experience in motion graphics, audio technology, or nonfiction writing.
Candidates should be creative and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well individually and as a team member, have excellent attention to detail, handle constructive criticism, and be able to meet deadlines. Hours are flexible.
