Resources for International Students

Connection with current students: Global Ties Mentors will start reaching out to incoming international and recent immigrant/refugee students in May to support them and build a mentoring relationship.

Connection with their peers (other international students): Global Ties will provide opportunities to engage with fellow international students in small groups.

Pre-arrival Support Zoom: International students may attend virtual sessions centered around their major, school, geographical home region, or special interests to meet other students with shared backgrounds or interests.

Mandatory International Orientation: Learn information for new international students and meet the Global Ties Mentors.

Fall Programs: Regardless of Pitt’s in-person or online status, Global Ties will provide meaningful social programs for international and domestic students to connect.

Summer International Associates Program: Current international students (of all years) who lost summer opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to be matched with virtual summer internships through the Summer International Associates Program.

#GTWeCare Virtual Hangouts: Current international students are invited to join us on Zoom every Saturday night to hang out. You will receive a link with an email.

Global Connect: Both international and domestic students are welcome at our social events, providing opportunities for cross-cultural connections.
