Climbing Wall

The Climbing Wall features a 49-foot-tall top rope and lead climbing with a crack feature, as well as a 14-foot-tall bouldering wall all set with over 3000 climbing holds! Our instructors provide a variety of programs to assist you with learning the basics or enhancing your skills. Plus, our routesetting team creates new routes every week to keep things fresh and exciting for all climbers!

Climb Programs
  • Bouldering Basics: Are you new to climbing and want some advice on how to get started? Our instructors will teach you basic techniques to get you started!
  • Top Roping 101: Our instructors will teach you basic skills for top rope belay and climbing. Climbers are encouraged to register with a partner (not required) and you will leave with skills to continue climbing!
  • Lead Climbing 101: Join our instructors in a three week series to learn how to lead climb! All participants must be top rope certified prior to registering for the program.
  • Community Climbs: Join us once a month for our BIPOC, Women’s, LGBTQIA+, and Adaptive climb sessions. This space is created to break down barriers to climbing and increase the representation of people who have historically marginalized identities.

Types of Certifications

Auto Belay: The climber must complete the orientation, be able to put on their harness correctly, demonstrate the ability to properly clip in and out of the Auto Belay and safety check this setup. Climbers must demonstrate the ability to climb and lower while clipped into the Auto Belay.  

Top Rope: Each climber must complete this training. During the final test, no form of assistance will be available as the patron must demonstrate complete proficiency. If the final test is failed, a new form must be completed, and the climber must go through training again. You may use either an ATC or GriGri. The belay check is valid for one academic year; after one academic year the patron must test again and show proficiency in the skills below. 

Lead: Each climber must complete this training. Each climber must have previously passed the top rope assessment. During the final test, no form of assistance will be available as the patron must demonstrate complete proficiency. If the final test is failed, a new form must be completed, and the climber must go through training again. The belay check is valid for one academic year; after one academic year the patron must test again and show proficiency in the skills below. 

Climbers must lead climb 5.9 with a minimum of 24 feet. They demonstrate confidence, correct clips, and correct routes.
