Fall Break

Fall Break

Fall break 2017

During an Alternative Break, students travel to new communities and take part in a service-based trip that will educate students on a particular social justice and give them a deeper understanding to why they serve. This year we are offering Fall Break Trips to communities within the region that provide students with an opportunity to travel, serve, and learn.

Spend your Fall Break 2017 doing good and having fun!

2017 Fall Break: Camp Kon-O-Kwee

Setting: Rural atmosphere with modern accommodations. Students will bunk in a joint area with shared restroom facilities.

Nature of work:  Participants should be prepared to “roll up their sleeves” as some light to medium labor is included in most projects. Projects will include: construction of picnic tables, implanting a drainage system, painting and staining the camp, and landscaping.

Fee: A $30 registration fee will cover your transportation, all meals, lodging, and supplies for the weekend away from campus ! Scholarships are available to students who qualify.

All meals and activities are included in the weekend trip just outside of Pittsburgh. Plan to meet other students passionate about service and have a fun weekend away! The camp is fully accessible and welcoming to all Pitt students. The past group of students enjoyed DIY service projects in the evening, marshmallows by the campfire, board games in their off-time and great meals provided in the local dining hall.
