11.28.17 | On Friday, November 24 director of PittServes, Misti McKeehen, was named the recipient of the 2017 Chancellor’s Staff Award in the Early Impact category. A ceremony at the Pitt vs. University of Miami football game recognized this honor.
The Early Impact Award was created to recognize a staff member with three-to-five years of experience, who within that short period of time, has exceeded the expectations of their position, taken on numerous assignments, and demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the University. In addition to meeting these criteria, the selection committee agreed that Misti has served as a valuable mentor to students and staff alike.
Other accomplishments cited by the selection committee included:
Helping students appreciate the value of community service through programs like Pitt Make a Difference Day (PMADD) and Alternative Break, which now includes an international component; partnering with the School of Computing and Information to develop a skills-based volunteerism program to provide valuable experience to international students; providing strategic direction to ensure the successful launch of innovative programs, such as Give a Thread and Thriftsburgh, and serving as staff advisor to the National Society for Leadership and Success, Strong Women, Strong Girls – Pitt, Alpha Phi Omega, and Trash Talk.
Congratulations, Misti, on this remarkable achievement!
