Hotel arrangements are not coordinated within the Family Weekend program and must be made separately. Each family is responsible for making its own reservations. It is highly recommended that hotel reservations be made immediately due to the large number of visitors expected on campus during this busy weekend.

What ground transportation do you recommend?

Many travelers from the University community take advantage of the 28X flyer – direct bus service from the airport to Oakland.

Public parking is available at multiple locations on lower and upper campus. Soldiers and Sailors (SS) Garage is most convenient to the O’Hara Student Center and William Pitt Union on lower campus. For vehicles entering after 4pm on Friday, a flat rate applies. Vehicles entering before 4 p.m. will pay the hourly rate for the entire length of their parking stay. The garage closes nightly—please refer to the posted closing time.

Upper campus parking is available in the OC (Allequippa Street) Lot, located between the Cost Center and Sutherland Hall. Shuttle service is available from upper campus. The 15A OC shuttle runs to lower campus only until 10:30 p.m. on Friday. The 10A Upper Campus shuttle will run through the weekend; the 10A stop is at Sutherland Hall.

For other campus parking options, please see visitor parking map.

Campus Shuttles

Campus shuttles are available to all family members during Family Weekend. Family members do not need to be accompanied by a student to ride.
