The following discounts are being offered to you during 2019 Family Weekend! You must have your 2019 Family Weekend wristband on to receive any discount. Please follow all dates and times listed.


1 Schenley Drive
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (in Oakland, just across from Schenley Park), a historic steel and glass Victorian greenhouse, has been inviting visitors to explore the beauty and mysteries of plants since 1893. A walk through the Conservatory takes about 90 minutes.

HOURS: Friday, 9:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
FAMILY WEEKEND SPECIAL: Daily Admission $5.50 per person. Regular rate of $11.95–17.95 per person applies without Family Weekend wristband. Pitt students with ID and children under 2 are free.



Cathedral of Learning; begin at Gift Center on first floor

The Nationality Rooms are located on the first and third floors of the University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning. The rooms were designed to represent the culture of various ethnic groups that settled in Allegheny County, are supported by these cultural groups and governments, and double as University classrooms.

HOURS: Saturday, 11 a.m.–noon; 12:30–1:30 p.m.; 2:30–3:30 p.m. Last tour leaves at 2:30 p.m.
FAMILY WEEKEND SPECIAL: Daily Admission $3 per adult and Pitt student, $2 per youth (6-18 years). Regular rate of $4 per adult and Pitt student applies without Family Weekend wristband. Guests will pay their admission upon arrival at the Nationality Rooms Information and Gift Center.


4400 Forbes Avenue
Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh is a leader in defining the role of museums for the 21st century. Poised as the first museum for contemporary art, the Carnegie Museum of Art has a distinguished permanent collection of more than 35,000 objects that span broad spectrum painting, sculpture, film, video, and digital imagery. Under the same roof, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History invites visitors to explore the history of the earth and experience the excitement of scientific discovery. The museums are across Forbes Avenue from the Cathedral of Learning.

HOURS: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
FAMILY WEEKEND SPECIAL: Daily Admission $5.98 per person includes both museums. Regular rate of $11.95-19.95 per person applies without Family Weekend wristband. Pitt students with ID and children 2 and under are free.


4141 Fifth Avenue
Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum is the nation’s only military museum dedicated to honoring the men and women of all branches of service—the citizen as well as the professional soldier. Exhibits include military artifacts and personal mementos, a 2,300 guest concert hall, a classic ballroom, the Gettysburg Room, and the Hall of Valor, which pays tribute to American heroes. The museum explores the evolution of equipment and technology as well as the effects that military conflicts have had on society.

HOURS: Friday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
FAMILY WEEKEND SPECIAL: Special daily admission $5 per person (the regular rate of $10 per adult age 14–54 applies without a Family Weekend wristband). Pitt students with ID and children under 5 are FREE.
FREE ADMISSION is offered to military members serving on active duty and in the Guard and Reserve, to those veterans who have served and retired military, and to families and their guests if the family has an immediate family member serving in our current conflicts.
