Help Students Develop their Resumes and Interviewing Skills

Help students prepare for and reduce the stress of an actual job interview by participating in mock interviews or resume reviews. Each 30 minute session includes a practice interview or resume review and recruiter feedback with tips and techniques to help students improve their interviewing, communication skills or resume. Contact the On-Campus Recruitment Coordinator to schedule a session.

Host a Panther Shadow

The Panther Shadow Program takes job shadowing to the next level! Groups of 5 – 15 Pitt students visit your place of business to learn more about your organization and industry. The Panther Shadow Program is a great way to showcase your workplace, introduce students to key people within your organization, and increase your brands visibility among students who are seeking out internships and full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.  Not located in Pittsburgh?   Shadow in Your City connects students to employers located in Philadelphia, New York City and Washington D.C. Employers that participate in the Panther Shadow Program are recognized in Pitt’s campus-wide publication. Contact an Employment Development Specialist to schedule a Panther Shadow visit.

Host an Employer Information Session

Give a presentation about your company and its opportunities to students in the William Pitt Union prior to your scheduled On-Campus Interview session. Contact the On-Campus Recruitment Coordinator for more information.

Reserve an Information Table

Display where students gather! Reserve a table inside or outside the William Pitt Union. The William Pitt Union is an excellent place to market your company’s opportunities. Contact the On-Campus Recruitment Coordinator for more information.

Talk to Student Organizations

Students welcome the opportunity to learn outside the classroom. Share helpful insights on trends or opportunities within your field or industry. Contact an Employment Development Specialist to help connect you to student clubs and organizations that may have an interest in your organization or company.

Advertise in our Career Guide

The Career Center Career Guide is publication offered by the Career Center as a resource to students. It includes information and tips on career preparation from how to network and conduct an informational interview, to how to prepare for a career fair. Hard copies of the career guide are distributed to over 3,000 students (hypothetical number). For more information contact an Employment Development Specialist.

Get Pitt Alumni Involved

There are a number of ways for alumni in your organization to give back by getting involved with Career Development and Placement Assistance.
