OFFERED SPORTS

Registration for all Spring 2018 sports open on January 8, 2018 and are available at IMLeagues. Please refer to the schedule tab to view when registration closes and competition begins for each sport. 

 

FALL SPORTS

 

Volleyball (Sessions 1 & 2) – Intramural Volleyball consists of teams of 6 on 6 with games played to 21. Officials will not be provided. Teams will rotate in a round robin fashion during the regular season. There will be two separate 4-week sessions with playoffs only for the second. Playoffs will be best of elimination tournaments. Intramural Volleyball offers three leagues of competition: Co-Ed & Women’s, Sorority, and Men’s. All competition is played at the Fitzgerald Field House.

 

Indoor Soccer – Intramural Indoor Soccer consists of teams of 6 on 6 including the goalie and compete during 20-minute halves. Officiating will be provided. The regular season will be a total of 6 weeks and playoffs will be single-elimination tournaments held after the end of the regular season based on regular season records. Intramural Soccer offers two leagues of competition: Co-Ed & Women’s, and Men’s. All competition is played on the indoor fields at the Cost Center.

 

Rec. Basketball – Intramural Basketball in the Fall will consists of 25-minute halves with no referees or scorekeepers.  This season will be 6 weeks long. Intramural basketball offers two leagues of competition: Co-Ed & Women’s, and Men’s. All competition is played on the Trees Basketball Courts.

 

Ultimate Frisbee – Intramural Ultimate Frisbee consists of teams of 5 on 5 and are played with 20-minute halves. Officiating will not be provided. The regular season will consist of a 4 week regular season with no playoffs. Ultimate Frisbee only offers one open league of competition. All competition is played on the outdoor IM fields located adjacent to the Pitt Sports Dome.

 

Touch Football – Intramural Football is touch football that consists of teams of 6 on 6. It is played with approximately 30 plays each half with officiating provided. The regular season will total 5 weeks and playoffs will be single-elimination tournaments held after the end of the regular season based on regular season records.  Intramural Football offers three leagues of competition: Men’s, Co-Ed & Women’s, and Fraternity. All competition is played on the Pitt Sports Dome fields.

 

SPRING SPORTS

 

Indoor Soccer – Intramural indoor soccer consists of teams of 6 on 6 including the goalie and compete during 20-minute halves. Officiating will be provided. The regular season will be a total of 6 weeks and playoffs will be single-elimination tournaments held after the end of the regular season based on regular season records. Intramural soccer offers four leagues of competition: Co-Ed & Women’s, Men’s, Sorority, and Fraternity. All competition is played on the indoor fields at the Cost Center.

Basketball – Basketball in the spring will consist of 20-minute halves with a running clock stopping with 1 minute left in the first half and 2 minutes left in the second half. Officiating will be provided. The regular season will be 6 weeks long followed by playoffs. Playoffs are formatted with a 24-team bracket for Men’s, and an 8-team bracket for each of the Co-Ed & Women’s and Fraternity leagues. Intramural basketball offers three leagues of competition: Men’s, Co-Ed & Women’s, and Fraternity. All competition is played on the Trees Basketball Courts.

SUMMER SPORTS

Indoor Soccer – Intramural indoor soccer consists of teams of 6 on 6 including the goalie and compete during 20-minute halves. Officiating will be provided. The regular season will be a total of 6 weeks with no playoffs.  All competition is played on the indoor fields at the Pitt Sports Dome.  Games will be played on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

 

Co-Ed Softball – Intramural co-ed softball will be played on the indoor and outdoor turf fields at the Pitt Sports Dome.  Games will be played on Monday’s.  Rules will be displayed shortly.
