Group Exercise Class Descriptions

We try to provide the most up to date and current group exercise classes available. All of our Instructors are certified for each class they teach, along with CPR/First Aid Certified.


Please note all classes may not be available each semester.


Advanced Swimming

For advanced swimmers only, you must be proficient at swimming in the deep end and have a basic knowledge of the other 3 strokes. Students will learn proper stroke technique focusing on proper breathing kicking and pulling drills, and lap workouts to improve overall advanced swimming performance. The goal of this course is to develop stroke technique and build up endurance in the water. By the end, individuals should be able to swim 500 meters without stopping. The approach will be: freestyle technique, learning the other strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly), and learning the “flip-turn.”

Battle Dome

Train with us at the Sports Dome for the best workouts in functional exercise – learn to use only your body weight to master calisthenics on our fitness playground! Pulling, pushing, climbing, jumping… we’ll safely teach you the moves you need to improve your fitness from the beginning level to the advanced.


A ballet-inspired workout using the principles of classical dance to tone and sculpt your entire body. This class will emphasize the importance of form and body alignment while performing low-weight, high-repetition exercises. No prior ballet experience is necessary.

Beginner Swimming

Designed for those who need to develop an understanding of basic aquatic principles. The goal of this course is to overcome barriers and become more comfortable in the water, as well as to work towards intermediate level skills. By the end, individuals should be able to swim freestyle without stopping to touch the bottom, and tread water for 1-2 minutes in the deep end. The sequential approach to this course will be: floating and proper breathing mechanics, body orientation in the water, treading water, and learning the “streamline” form (kicking, rotation & breathing).

Butts + Guts

Butts + Guts:  Want to build your booty & tone your core?  Butts + Guts utilizes free weights, stability balls, steps, and bands to maximize your results.

Boot Camp

Want to get toned? Want to burn calories? This military-inspired circuit-training class utilizes your own bodyweight and the bare minimum of equipment. Jumping jacks, jogging, push-ups, squats and lunges will increase your fitness level, tone your muscles and burn calories.

Cardio Kickboxing

This non-contact workout will get your heart pumping by using self-defense based moves such as punches, blocks, and of course, kicks! You’ll get a total body toning workout as the moves focus on your core, arms and legs. Bring a water bottle and a towel, and come prepared to sweat!

Club Baierl

Indoor cycling: illuminated. The lights go off & music turns up. A party on the bike featuring multicolored LED lights with the sprints, climbs, and jumps you know and love. Work at your own intensity level - no experience is necessary for this 60 minute class.

Cycle + Flow

This class will combine the intensity of cycling with the relaxation of yoga, providing both a workout in cardio and flexibility. The first half hour will be spent on the bikes, riding to upbeat music, while the second half will focus on lengthening muscles, incorporating the upper body, and calming the mind on the yoga mat.

Chakra Yoga Flow

Yoga for mind, body, and spirit. In this class, you will use various tools in yoga to activate and balance your energy. Each class will contain yoga postures, visualization, meditation, reflection, and aromatherapy. Bring a journal, a mat, and an open mind to experience the benefits and boost to your mental health during this hour of self-care.

Fitness Boxing

Throw on your gloves and put up your dukes! Learn traditional boxing skills and techniques by focusing on mitt drills, footwork, punch combinations and high intensity interval training. .Increase your heart rate, sweat it out, and knock out that stress!


Originated in Korea, this class is an introduction to the hand and foot techniques of the world’s most popular martial art. Learn proper form and experience both aerobic and anaerobic benefits of this style of training. As an optional addition to this class, at the end of the semester, students have the opportunity to break a board and demonstrate their techniques!

Gluteus Maxout

A calorie-burning, strength-building class consisting of functional, challenging super sets to get your legs and glutes ready for the weekend! No prior experience required.

Studio Cycling

Join us for sprints, climbs, and jumps for an exciting cardiovascular workout. Cycling is for everyone, so work at your own intensity level (light to extreme cycling). No experience is necessary, but we do offer a beginner studio cycling class to ease you in.

Hip Hop Aerobics

Come enjoy a combination of hip hop dance and fitness moves for an intense hour of fun and exercise. You might even learn some dance moves you can use at your next party!

Insanity ®

This class will push you past your limits. Workouts are packed with plyometric drills and relentless intervals of strength, power and resistance moves plus abdominal and core training techniques to help sculpt and tone the ultimate physique.

Beginner Yoga

This Yoga class focuses on the proper techniques for poses, breathing, flow and form. This class is geared towards those who are new to yoga, and are looking to gain a solid foundation.

Iyengar Yoga

This style of yoga is an extension of Hatha Yoga, developed by and named after BKS Iyengar in the 20th Century. It emphasizes proper alignment and the holding of poses using tools like blocks, straps, bolsters and chairs. Tone individual muscle groups, loosen joints, and practice breathing exercises (pranayama) to stimulate both the body and the mind. Ideal for all levels and abilities.

Intro to Rock Climbing

Learn the basics of climbing. Features top-rope and bouldering techniques using our rock climbing wall. *An extra fee of $16 will be added for those needing to rent climbing equipment for the class. The equipment rental fee can be prorated if you have your own equipment (shoes or harness/ATC). Payment can be made at the time of registration.

Meditation for Beginners

Our meditation for beginner’s class is for everyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or belief. They are designed to give a broad introduction to meditation, teachings, and practice. The purpose of this class is to expand your consciousness by allowing your body, mind and soul to be renewed in 30 minutes of mindfulness.


A versatile, all over body workout that improves flexibility, posture, stamina and strength. Emphasis on abdominal and back strength, spinal alignment and breathing techniques in order to improve the mind-body connection to help balance and coordinate.


Work, rest repeat. Want amazing fitness results in the shortest period of time? This class is designed to improve cardiovascular endurance by challenging you to reach your peak heart rate through several rounds of intense cardiovascular training followed by a short period of rest. If you’re looking to improve your overall agility, cardio endurance, and/or strength - this class is for you!


Combines strength and cardio exercise using choreographed routines that will keep your heart rate elevated throughout the entire class. Students will improve overall cardiovascular endurance as well as build muscle using steps with risers, barbells, dumbbells, jump ropes, yoga balls, mats, and cords are all used to sculpt the physique you are working toward.


POP Pilates fuses music, strength, and choreography to take classical Pilates to the next level. While the core is the main focus, this class works the entire body to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, posture, and mind-muscle connection.


Channel your inner rock star with this full body cardio-jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing, and sweat-dripping fun of drumming!

Slackline Yoga

This all levels class was created to teach you to balance, move, and breathe from a fun, new perspective. Whether you've never heard of slacklining or are a seasoned slacker, this class will help you build your slackline practice with everything from walking, to yoga poses, to breathing and focus techniques.

Total Body Fusion

Increase cardiovascular fitness, firm and tone muscles, and de-stress by incorporating step aerobics, hi-low exercises, kickboxing, circuits, free weights, bodyweight exercises, stability balls, Pilates, and core work. If you like a little bit of everything, this is the class for you

TRX Sweat

A total body workout without the use of weights or machines. This high intensity suspension class uses your own bodyweight to build, tone and strengthen. Exercise can be personalized to accommodate your range of motion and increase core engagement.

Turbo Kick

Maximize your workout with ab-sculpting moves and fat-burning cardio using some of the most popular music out there. This class is filled with shadow boxing, karate, sports drills, hip-hop and funk.

Ultimate Abs

Want to strengthen and tone your core? This class offers a combination of cardio, weights, plyometric drills, and intervals that focus on strength, power, and total core transformation. Modifications are offered for a less intense workout.

Vinyasa Yoga

“Vinyasa” - to integrate movement with the breath. This invigorating practice includes sun salutations, standing poses, backbends, forward bends, twists, and inversions. Practice poses and sequences using alignment techniques to gain confidence, strength, and flexibility. This class is for yogis of all levels.


This class is intended to promote health, alleviate stress, improve skeletal alignment, and increase muscular strength and flexibility. Learn the fundamentals of yoga through various poses & sequences, relaxation techniques, proper breathing, meditation, and concentration. Expect to gain confidence, strength, and flexibility. This class is for yogis of all levels.
